Plymouth Yoga Room is excited to offer Yoga Immersion spring 2010. This journey will take you through 200+ hours of training, that will include meditation, asana, yoga foundation and theory through study and practice. We will start with Ashtanga Vinyasa and then move into our Slow Flow/Better Backs style of yoga, which is the foundation of PYR’s style, to allow any person to practice.
Understand yoga thru the knowledge of your experience and practice. If you have ever had the desire to deepen your practice, join us for this transformational inward journey. You might even end up with the desire to give this gift to others and teach.

• Cultivate discipline through strong asana, pranayama, and meditation
• Learn PYR’s style of yoga, to make yoga available to all wishing to practice
AREAS OF STUDY
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
• Develop ujjayi pranayama (victorious life force), bandhas (energy locks) and inner focus
• Increase strength, flexibility and endurance
• Enhance focus
• Establish a daily strong asana practice
Slow Flow/Better Backs
• Learn diaphragmatic/Complete breathing
• Understand poses and their benefits
• Utilize/move the back in six directions to increase/maintain mobility
Meditation
• Develop strength & balance of the mind and body to explore any resistance to growth and/or personal transformation
• Develop a daily meditation practice
• Find compassion and acceptance
• Guide others through meditation
Anatomy/Physiology
• Learn the human anatomy and how it pertains to yoga’s therapeutic benefits
• Make yoga available to any person through modifications and adjustments
Teaching skills
• Guide students through strong asana, pranayama, and meditation
• Flow sequencing and class structure for groups and individuals
• Adjust students both verbally and physically
• Communicate effectively creating a powerful and complete class
Yoga philosophy/lifestyles and ethics for yoga teachers
• Study classical yoga theory and philosophy
• Live a fuller, more rewarding life
Course includes
• 18 classes at PYR
• Weekend retreat (includes lodging and meals)
• Unlimited yoga series at PYR (during TT)
